I miss you Midwest
Someone was burning a fire in their fireplace as I walked into my apartment tonight. Instantly I was transported back to the Midwestern autumns of my youth. The crackling of the leaves beneath your feet as you walked on the sidewalk, the smell of someone burning the leaves that they had spent all day raking up, and the promise of the first snowfall not too far away. Oh how I miss the seasons. It is actually spring here, although you would not know it except for the fact that the past two days have actually been below 80 degrees. I miss that feeling of rebirth when spring would appear. It was as though all was erased and you had a fresh start...like each season came and washed you clean of all your past mistakes. The purity of new life.
